About Our Sustainable Packaging Solutions

Mailed It's standard size rolls are 2" wide x 330 feet long. That's over 10x MORE than the leading brand's decorative packing tape!

Our half-size rolls (rolling out in early 2022 - see what we did there?!) are 165 feet in length - 5x the size of other top brands!

A lot! Depending on the size of your boxes, one roll of tape can cover hundreds of packages*! If you are using your tape to add a decorative touch to mailers, or to seal flats or envelopes, your tape will last even longer!
*based upon using 12" of tape per package

Our tapes are printed on 1.9 mil thick polypropylene. It is one of the few materials approved to effectively seal cartons and boxes up to 35 pounds.

Eco-friendly packaging is defined as packaging material that lessens harmful impacts to the environment. Generally, eco packaging is made out of recycled materials, is recyclable, reusable and/or is biodegradable.

Environmentally-friendly packaging is better for the environment and business owners alike! Eco-friendly tapes, like our paper water activated paper tapes, are a strong alternative to plastic tape and require less material to effectively secure a single box or package, saving both time and money. Eco-friendly packaging, also called sustainable packaging, eliminates harmful materials from the packaging process by using natural and renewable resources in place of man-made materials. It is also safer for the environment in the short and long-term because, when properly recycled, it keeps single-use plastics out of the landfill.

There are many eco-friendly packaging options available to consumers and businesses. These sustainable packaging materials can be made out of paper, like our gummed water-activated paper tapes. However, these can be things like cardboard boxes and rigid mailers too! Another kind of eco-friendly packaging is packaging made from recycled materials, such as recycled plastic mailers and bags. Additionally, sustainable packaging can be made from biodegradable plastic and materials, including our eco-friendly cellulose packing tape. This tape is made from natural cellulose acetate film and rubber, and it breaks down over time, leaving no harmful micro-plastics behind.

When it comes to an eco-friendly or compostable packaging solution, it is important to consider what is the best fit for your business. Non-reinforced paper tapes are, by definition, one of the most eco-friendly packaging options because they are made from a renewable resource and are 100% recyclable right along with the box they are attached to. Recycled and recyclable products have a longer life cycle than single-use plastic packaging that cannot be recycled; therefore, they are a great option when it comes to lessening the harm done to the environment by single-use packaging materials.

The environmental harm caused by traditional packaging continues to increase year after year. As more packaging waste is dumped into the world’s landfills, pollution will continue to damage our air, oceans and waterways as a direct result of their toxic liquid and gas emissions. As the world becomes more aware of the harmful effects of plastic waste and manufacturing, many businesses are making the switch to eco-friendly products and recycled plastics as a part of their packaging and shipping processes. Many consumers are also becoming more aware of the harmful effects of plastic on the environment, and are ready + willing to support businesses with a sustainability mindset.

Water-activated tape is an eco-friendly packing tape made of paper, making it 100% recyclable and biodegradable. Water-activated tape can be reinforced with fiberglass strands, making it even stronger than non-reinforced water-activated tape. Water activates the adhesive on the back of the tape, which then creates a secure bond to the cardboard box on which it is placed.

Water activated tape is easy to use! Simply cut the length of tape that you need to seal your package, and dampen a small sponge. Lightly, but firmly, moisten the entire back of the tape with the sponge. Align and press firmly onto any cardboard box, and the adhesive will instantly create a strong bond. For those who ship regularly, we recommend using a water activated tape dispenser for ease of use. It is important to note that water activated tapes should NOT be applied over plastic tape. The adhesive creates a bond to the cardboard that will not form if plastic tape is present.

Place your roll of tape in the dispenser and follow the guides to get tape properly positioned. Pull the tape over the wet sponge, making sure to cover the entire surface of the back of the tape with water. Cut tape to the desired length using the sharp edge on the dispenser, and place on your box. Voila! You package is ready to go!

Warm water and soap will easily remove any residue you may get on your hands from applying water activated tape to your boxes.

Follow any guides for the packing tape dispenser to get your tape properly positioned. Then, follow the directions to activate your water-activated tape or press down firmly on the tape to properly reinforce the bond between your packaging and packing tape!

Water activates the adhesive on the back of our water activated packing tape, which then creates a secure bond to the cardboard box on which it is placed. Our self-adhesive tapes are already sticky; therefore, they can be cut and can applied directly to your boxes!
